Intimate wedding at Château Neercanne
When Sara reached out to me for her wedding photography, it was a pleasant surprise. She had admired my work from Bas and Carol’s wedding, who are good friends of Marc and Sara and often spoke highly of them. Our initial meeting at my office felt like a friendly chat, a promising start that hinted at the wonderful experience to come.
Marc and Sara are an incredibly vibrant and caring couple. Their wedding day reflected their warm personalities, featuring an intimate gathering of close family and friends. I had the privilege of joining them for six hours. The day began at the historic city hall of Maastricht, where Marc and Sara exchanged their heartfelt vows. Afterward, we headed to the picturesque Château Neercanne for a stunning bridal portrait session. The chateau, with its breathtaking views and elegant surroundings, offered the perfect setting for a great shoot with lots of fun.
Following the portrait session, guests enjoyed drinks with a view, taking in the serene beauty of the chateau’s landscape. The celebration concluded with a lovely dinner, where laughter and love filled the air.

The ceremony
The big day began at the city hall of Maastricht, coinciding with the vibrant Friday market. Marc, with his German and Japanese roots, and Sara, from the Netherlands, brought a wonderful mix of nationalities to the celebration, making it a joy to see everyone come together. Wedding officiant Taco added a unique twist to the ceremony with his cowbells, which was a delightful touch!
Au château
After the ceremony, we journeyed to the enchanting Château Neercanne, one of Maastricht’s most idyllic venues. We began with a joyous bridal portrait session, capturing the couple’s love amidst the stunning scenery. This was followed by drinks with breathtaking views, and culminated in an exquisite dinner. Marc & Sara’s wedding was a joy to document and I loved being party of their big day.
